Influence and Trust Are Essential In Your Network Marketing Business… Yes They Really Are!
Well, they really are if you are looking to become a true leader for your team, sponsor true leaders, and build a huge residual income with your business. Most successful network marketers have a lot of influence and trust, and they know how to develop it. Unfortunately, most people, especially new distributors don’t have a lot of influence with their warm market as far as their business goes.
So, how can you build and develop influence and trust with your “current” and “future” warm market? By “current,” I mean your friends, family, and others who you know right now. And by “future,” I mean the people you don’t know right now (your cold market), but will soon bring into your warm market. Yes, that is how the top earners find a lot of their leaders on their team – through people they bring into their warm market. Expanding your warm market is one of the most important daily action steps you must take in your business.
Now let’s get back to how to build and develop influence and trust. First of all, let me stress the fact that it is common that you will probably not be able to get the influence and trust right away in regards to your business with a lot of your “current” warm market of your friends and family. Why is that? Well, if you are like most of us, you were probably brought up with values of going to school, getting good grades, and getting a good job until you can retire in the long-term. There’s nothing wrong with that. But that is how your friends and family see you – as a person who is just like them.
Did you ever hear the saying, “If you want to achieve financial and time freedom, look what everyone around you is doing – and do the exact opposite!”
So, as far as your “current” warm market goes, you may need to give it some time before you can get the kind of business influence you need from them. Once they see you have success, you will have more credibility with them, and the influence and trust will come. BUT, make sure you do not wait until then to talk to your friends and family about your business, ok? You never really know who will be the next right person for you to work with.
Remember earlier when I wrote that the single most important action you must take in your business each day is to expand your warm market? That means to find people in your cold market, and bring them into your warm market. You do that by building and developing influence and trust with them, and this is how you can do that (you can also apply some of these to your current warm market as well to build influence and trust).
Offer and Give Value – Make sure you give first before you take. Too many network marketers only focus on the take while trying to sponsor people into their business. Their only goal is to sign them up into their businesses, and they don’t take the time to find out more about the person first. Keep your focus on giving something of value that can help them with something they have a passion for, or something that is important to them. Trust me, they will like you for it, and their respect for you will go up.
Develop Relationships – As you continue to give value, you will start developing stronger relationships. People like to be around and work with people they like, know and trust.
Continue To Give More Value – and ask for nothing in return. They will like you even more for it. Make sure you are giving good value that can really benefit them.
Be A Leader – Show them that you are a leader. Invite them to conference calls, webinars, or events. Those can be done by others you now, or even better, yourself. Stay involved, and become a good promoter. You’ll see the ones who are serious, because they will start to become involved too.
