There are a lot of steps involved in making money online that are great to outsource, but your email marketing programs aren’t on that list. Unless you are good at web design and like to code, you should probably have other people make your site for you.
If you have no idea how to make a video about your business, then hire a producer who knows what they are doing. If you don’t want to spend hours a day doing data entry and other important but tedious tasks, get yourself a virtual assistant.
Still, there are a few things that you shouldn’t outsource. Your email marketing programs are one of them.
Now, a lot of people are already outsourcing their email marketing program of their business, and I feel strongly that they should start doing it themselves. One of the biggest reasons why you shouldn’t outsource your email marketing campaign is the fact that it is very, very easy to do yourself.
It doesn’t take any real technical skills, it doesn’t take a lot of time and it’s not tedious. Anyone who can write and send an e-mail can do their own direct email marketing… and if you can’t write and send emails than you probably shouldn’t be building an online business in the first place.
Also, doing it yourself is important because it gives you a direct line to your customers. This is important for two reasons.
1) Much of your success marketing to your list will depend on the relationship that you have with them. If you have a really good relationship with your list, if they like you and trust you, then they are more likely to bite when you offer them something via direct email marketing.
2) You will be interacting directly with your customers and prospects, which gives you a window into how they think, what they want, what they need, and what they aren’t happy about (in your products or in your competitors). This type of one on one relationship and understanding is invaluable.
If you are going to launch some email marketing programs yourself, or if you are going to take over from someone you outsourced your email marketing program to, there are a few things that you need to know to succeed at your campaign. You will need to do a little research to learn how to best manage an email marketing campaign, but pursuing that research and completing this work yourself is one of the best steps you can take to make great money online.
