Has your upline been telling you to avoid all that Online MLM Marketing stuff because it doesn’t work?
I hear this from so many people – it’s time to set the record straight.
Why is it that upline leaders in the world of traditional network marketing get so upset about online MLM marketing and lead generation? What would cause them to discourage the people who they sponsored to avoid any and all marketing methods that could add to the success of both parties? Upline leaders are supposed to be there to support and encourage you to higher levels of performance. It just seems odd that you would not be encouraged to learn a new skill like online MLM marketing.
The majority of the newer top producers have become top producers specifically because they have embraced online MLM marketing and lead generation. If online MLM marketing could bring in multiple new team members every month and turn you into a power recruiter, they should be all for it, right? Wrong.
So what’s the deal? What are they afraid of?
Logically, it does not compute, but psychologically it actually makes sense. The biggest reason, of course, is that people fear what they do not know or understand. We are talking about a new wave of communication. There are many leaders who wish this technology stuff and social media would just go away. They know what worked for them in the past. So if it’s not broke, why fix it?
A second reason is that we all like to have control of our business. If you venture into the world of Online MLM marketing, how will they be able to advise or lead you if they haven’t done it themselves? They can’t advise you on what they don’t know.
But it’s not just fear, lack of understanding, and potential loss of control that irritates them. There are actually many Network Marketing leaders who DO understand internet marketing and they are still opposed to it. How can that be??
Well, in a nutshell, people fear “change”.
I know, it doesn’t make any sense to you, but it is a reality. What does change have to do with network marketing? Once you become involved in the world of online marketing, your business will change dramatically. Particularly, when you discover the principles of funded proposals, affiliate marketing, and attraction marketing.
Once you open the door to Online MLM marketing, your business WILL change.
You can choose to ignore new knowledge, but you cannot “unlearn” it. It’s like this. In the world of traditional MLM marketing you are told to go out and spend your time promoting “The Company” as the best of all opportunities. I’m sure you know this marketing method very well. It’s the way it’s always been done. You position the company as the chance of a lifetime, that unique opportunity that will change everyone’s life and livelihood forever. All you have to do is recognize the incredible potential of the opportunity, lock arms with the team, and your financial success is assured. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was that simple. Well, we all know that it’s not.
What’s the non-traditional way, the “New” way of network marketing?
Once a network marketer becomes involved in online MLM marketing they quickly learn that promoting “the company” first is a great way to lose prospects. Instead, you create relationships with people first, and develop a reputation as a trusted adviser and leader in the industry. Your marketing focus is NOT about the company, but focuses instead on giving your prospects valuable information and useful tools to help them be successful in the pursuit of their business with whatever company they are with.
Get educated, become knowledgeable, and brand yourself as a trusted marketing coach.
If you have no idea where to start, and you are brand new to online MLM marketing, you know your current skill level does not qualify you as coach material. So where does that leave you? Start learning, connect with someone who can coach you, find a marketing system that works, and begin to brand yourself as a provider of an opportunity to learn online MLM marketing. At the same time, get educated, become knowledgeable, and develop your skills to become qualified.
Your entire marketing strategy will change from focusing on your primary Network Marketing company to helping others succeed in the Network Marketing industry.
Your goals are still the same. You want to generate leads and ultimately sponsor people into your MLM company, but you lead with an online marketing system as the front end product and market your company as a back end opportunity once you have developed a relationship with your prospect. The number of leads you will generate in this way will far outnumber what you would generate by leading with your company. Once you have developed a relationship with your prospects, such that they know you and trust you, they will be much more willing to listen to what you have to say about your opportunity. Needless to say, you will become a much better recruiter for your MLM business.
What is a “funded proposal”?
As you begin attracting prospects through your online lead generation system you create the opportunity to generate cash flow from your efforts by using a “funded proposal.” You do this by exposing your leads to various affiliate offers for training or tools that have to do with MLM or online marketing success. Bottom line, you will soon be generating leads and your business will be creating cash flow from your affiliate offers, and you will probably be sponsoring more people into your primary MLM business than you ever had before.
Caution! You are about to realize that the power is in the marketing, not the company or the product.
This is the most frightening thing for your upline leaders. Once you realize that you could be successful with any company you choose, the ultimate shift occurs. Sooner or later you will discover that your primary MLM is really nothing more than just another affiliate income stream. Once you realize that the power is in your ability to bring leads and recruits to the table without ever mentioning your company, and that you have the power to put them in ANY company you choose….. I suppose we call this the moment of TRUTH… you are no longer under their power. Your leaders realize that they will no longer have any control over you at all. If the company future does not play out the way you want, you can leave and choose any opportunity you like, and you have the ability to take your group with you. And you know as well as I do, there are scores of companies or opportunity in the MLM universe.
Top Network Marketing leaders build huge organizations, yet they are not totally dependent on any one company, because their power is in their ability to recruit an army behind them which they could move to any other company of their choice.
